Danger of Lies

There is so much power in our words that one lie can cause years of pain, suffering, and grief. Telling lies are costly and even when truth is ultimately revealed, the damage done is sometimes irreparable. Lies have cost many to lose their lives. Lies have caused divorces and marital separations. Lies have divided churches and families. And lies have split even the closest of friends. A lie is easy to tell but hard to reckon. It is a weapon of mass destruction and is born out of pride, arrogance, and deceit. No person claiming to be a child of the living God should ever be partaker of such a vicious assault against their brother. Jesus said, satan is the father of lies, therefore we must remember that when we engage in telling lies, we take sides against the Kingdom of God and have partnered with the arch enemy of our salvation.
