Deuteronomy 8:2-3, “And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.”
The Lord has a mighty and sure fire way to keep His people humble. He will allow you to go through a wilderness to show you that He is your ultimate Source for all things. And truth be told, He doesn’t mind feeding and clothing you in the process either. When you tell the Lord to have His way in your life, you’d better be prepared for Him to do just that. But keep in mind that many times His way and your way are conflicting one against the other. We serve a God who has His way in the whirlwind so I have learned that if He allows you to go through a thing, it’s for His greater glory to be revealed in your life. No need to complain, submit and roll with it.
