Turn the Hearts of the Children Back to the Father

It is not the Lord’s character to rebuke you, cut you off from Him, and utterly destroy everything about you without fair warning first AND secondly without providing a way to return to Him. We have truckloads of bitter prophets who are spitting out judgment, hellfire, and brimstone, but the Lord clearly desires us to do what is right, show love and mercy, and to walk humbly before Him. (Micah 6:8)

Jeremiah 26:3, “Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from his evil way. Then I will relent and not bring on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.” Prophets are to convey the mind of the Lord, persuade the people to return to Him, INTERCEDE for them and appeal to the Lord for Him to change His mind concerning them not kill them in the process.

I am having great difficulty understanding why we would want to see a people or a nation destroyed yet we call ourselves prophets of God. If the Lord has His mind made up concerning the plight of the people, what does He need prophets for? Why would He reveal His plans, thoughts, and counsel if He has determined to destroy His creation? He has placed us here to convince the people to return to Him and how do we do that, we teach His mind, His ways, and His thoughts. We show the people that there is a more excellent way and that there is more that is required of us than what we have been willing to give.

Jeremiah 18:11 “Now therefore say to the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, ‘This is what the LORD says: Look! I am preparing a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. So turn from your evil ways, each one of you, and reform your ways and your actions.’ The message of the prophet is TURN YOUR HEART TO GOD and AVOID DISASTER. We have a work to do, a heavy assignment and that is to turn the hearts of the children back to the Father and the heart of the Father back to the children. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it.
