Gehazi’s Downfall

Gehazi served Elisha; he was his ‘adjutant’ of sorts but something triggered in Gehazi’s heart that would change his life forever. Gehazi entertained a spirit of greed, covetousness, and dishonor which took root in his heart and harvested a great deal of trouble in his life. He betrayed his man of God, he worked behind his back, took what didn’t belong to him, and wiped his mouth clean as if he had done nothing wrong. Elisha knew full well what Gehazi had done and of the spirits Gehazi had been operating in but like Jesus, he held his peace. He allowed Gehazi to fully manifest and then came the judgment.I studied the 20th chapters and 17th verses(2017) in the Bible and Exodus 20:17 clearly warns against covetousness. It is a grave sin which opens the doors to many spirits of torment to attack a person’s life. Elisha was the set man, it was his right to receive gifts from Naaman whether he choose to or not but Gehazi clearly had neither lot or say in the matter. It was not his place to take anything from Naaman. He should have articulated his desires to Elisha and let Elisha decide from there but covetousness of the heart will impair judgment. It will cause one to think they are owed something, as if they are being ‘left out’ but this is a lie from the enemy. If you have to lie and deceive to meet a need, God is not the source of that need. Subsequently, Gehazi was afflicted with leprosy, a life time health condition and simultaneously lost his place in Elisha’s life. This was a high price to pay but God sent a message behind the judgement. Thou shalt not covet. Stay in your place of grace. Don’t graze in another man’s pasture unless invited to do so and above all, walk in honesty. Elisha sees you and so does the God of Elisha.

When Kings Nap

Why did King David’s newborn son meet his untimely demise? It could be because he was the son of an adulterous relationship. It could be because David had his lover’s husband killed. It could be because David stepped on the roof and lusted after a married woman. Or the ROOT cause could be that David was out of place. The King should have been out to battle but instead he was home taking a nap. He abandoned his place as a warrior and defender. He became at ease. He was in the flesh, his mind was carnal, his nature was calling, and the devil catered to his urges.

God forbid that a child has to suffer for the parent’s sin but this is what happened. Anytime we move out of place in the Lord, we put our home in danger. Our marriages sometimes are suffering because one or both spouses are in rebellion. Family relationships suffer and finances suffer many times when we move out of that set place. David was king. He had a seat to occupy. He had a work to do. He had a great assignment on his life yet when the Lord required him to stand in the day of battle, he pulled back and rested. He napped. He enjoyed the luxuries his wealth and prosperity offered and he slipped into a spiritual coma. By the time the enemy was through with him and when he came to his senses, he was found to be a murderer, conspirator, and adulterer. The one who was a worshiper was now a murderer. Why? Because he was out of place when God needed him and the enemy had legal right to touch his life.
Saints, God hates a lukewarm man. Either you are in or you are out. There is no shaded gray place where you can straddle safely. David became lukewarm and people lost their lives in the process. How many souls are perishing because of your lukewarmness?
If David reported to battle like he was supposed to, there would not be a dead son. There would not be a dead husband. There would not be an adulterous woman and God would have never sent Nathan to deal with David’s sin. Being in the right place at the right time is safe. Being outside of God’s will is always dangerous ground and if the person does not return to the Lord before the enemy catches wind of the breach, there is bound to be a casualty of some sort. Just as flies love to feed on flesh, when we walk after the flesh, demons are attracted to our lives.
Thank God David repented and returned to the Lord. God forgave Bathsheba too and gave them ‘peace’, namely Solomon but look at what it cost them. You don’t want to pay that price nor do you want anyone you love to suffer because of you. Get your life right with the Lord. Return while He is drawing you and let Him wash the guilty stain of sin away in the blood of Jesus.

Loose the Donkey and Her Colt

So many times in life we struggle to reach that place of effectiveness, the place where our destiny and purpose intersects, because of the unseen strings binding us. There is nothing much more uncomfortable than knowing what you are supposed to be doing and being unable to perform it. I have felt that way on too many occasions and it took deliverance in my mind, soul, and spirit for me to understand that who I am, what God expects of me, and why I feel led to do certain things to advance God’s Kingdom could not be realized until those unseen bands restricting my movements were loosened, untied, and ultimately destroyed.
What might those bands be, you may ask. The bands and bindings which serve to immobilize us are too many to recall but just to name a few they are; low self esteem, famine in finances, unhealthy relationships, stunted spiritual growth, declining health, and a weary and worn out mind. These things and so much more are the bands that bind us. They serve to hold us hostage to the place of yesterday and prevent us from moving forward. These unseen bindings speak to us out of a cruel tongue. They arrest us and hold us hostage. They put stumbling blocks in our paths and they resist us on every hand but thank God for Jesus. He has come to loose the bands that hold us. He has untied them and destroyed them through His love for us and the power in His name.
Over two thousand years ago, as Jesus made His triumphal entry to Jerusalem, He noticed a donkey and a colt which were bound. Jesus had a redemption plan for that donkey and her colt. He wanted to demonstrate to the entire region that He not only has the power to loose and set free but He also has the power to redeem. Jesus sent a word to the donkey and her colt and commanded them to be loosed. Once they were loosed, He commanded them to serve Him as vehicles of which He would use to announce His coming. I am certain that from that point forward, that donkey and her colt never returned to that place of bondage for whom the Son of Man sets free is free indeed. The season of their bindings had come to an immediate end and they, which were bound, were now being paraded with Jesus for all to see.

My friend, as you read this, I speak to your bindings that they be loosed, untied from around your neck, and destroyed in the name of Jesus. That unseen band which has restricted you and held you against your will is being removed. The circumstances that spoke such cruel and mocking language to you will receive the report of the Lord. That report is that you have been loosed. You have been set free by the Redeemer of your soul and no longer will you allow your unseen bands to hinder you from accomplishing all the Father has placed in your hands to do. You are loosed in Jesus name. Amen.

Got Patience?

Patience is a virtue we all need. With it, we have the ability to wait on the Lord to give us instruction in areas of our life where it is most needed. Many a foolish man has made life altering decisions in the heat of the moment when their emotions were under attack. We need to realize that certain choices cannot be undone. Some of those outcomes will haunt us until the day we depart this life.
Isaiah 40:31
Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
Patience will teach you how to cope with uneasy and difficult conditions until the time comes for change. It will empower you and grant you the strength you need in the face of turmoil to stand your ground and maintain your integrity. Patience is a necessity for the believer because there are certain issues in our personal life that WILL NOT change overnight. We will need the graces of patience to sustain us in those most challenging times when we need to put our trust in Almighty God.
James 1:19-20
This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
A hasty man is a foolish man. They will always make impetuous decisions and act out of their emotions. An impatient person hardly sees the righteousness of God working on their behalf because they lack the stamina to wait until He does so. A patient man does not have to answer every call, respond to every matter, or involve himself in every thing. He understands that one word said or deed done out of season can invoke a domino effect that can set off circumstances and spin them out of our control.
Wikipedia defines patience as, “The state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting on annoyance/anger in a negative way; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. Patience is the level of endurance one can take before negativity. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast. Antonyms include hastiness and impetuousness.”
Ephesians 4:1-2
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love.
The Lord is calling us to patience. He desires us to wait on Him for instruction before we say or do certain things that may bring added grief to our own lives. Many a man has suffered for making impulsive decisions and some have even caused their own departure from this life because they could not endure their difficulties. Teach us Lord, how to wait.
Psalm 37:7-9

Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret, it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land

Wait Until Your Change Comes

Daniel had to wait 21 days for the manifestation of his breakthrough. He persevered, he contended, he wrestled and he remained consistent in his prayers until the glory was revealed from Heaven on his behalf. What if he had given up on the 10th day? The 17th day? Or even the 20th day? You can’t give up because God heard you on the 1st day but it may take a few more days for the materialization of the breakthrough. Don’t give up before it materializes. Don’t be moved. Don’t be side swiped. Find the rope of faith, tie a knot and hold on until your CHANGE COMES.

Promises on Pause

For some reason, I have found that people clamor to receive a prophetic word but they avoid getting delivered. Here is a bit of solemn news for you. No matter how many prophetic words you receive, no matter which ‘highly esteemed’ prophet ministers to you, no matter how times you run around three times and bust your head on the second pew, your refusal to seek deliverance may just be the very thing that HINDERS your prophetic word from coming to pass.

I know this may not set well with some because we tend to think that God is going to bind Himself to His word regardless to how we live. The Lord has said that the promises of His are Yes and Amen and that’s what He means. But if you lack the capacity to contain His promises, they are still His promises even if they hang over the top of your head for the rest of your life.

You may just have PROMISES ON PAUSE!

It is God’s will for you to prosper, it is ALSO God’s will for you to walk softly before Him. The Lord responds to you. Heaven responds to earth. When earth is in alignment, rain will fall and seeds will sprout. But as long as you’re not found standing on the plumb line, the heavens above will be brassy. Give God something to work with so you can begin withdrawing from the spiritual realm what belongs to you.

Difference Between ‘Calling and Fulfilling’

Having a ‘calling’ and fulfilling the calling are two very different things. We all are called to be disciples of the Lord Jesus. Some receive more responsibility with their callings because they have proven themselves worthy of being capable of such. (Luke 12:48, Eph. 4:1) Some are more yielded than others, some are more honorable vessels than others so rightly, the Lord bestows upon them more weight but He still has no respect of persons.

But for the one holding an index card claiming they have been called, when are you planning on fulfilling that call? How many times does the Lord have to call you? Why does He have to send 20 prophets to give you the same word? What is wrong with your understanding? The Lord called His disciples, ONE TIME!! Elijah called Elisha ONE TIME! What makes you so special that He has to keep ringing your number because He keeps getting your VOICE mail? (you complain too much)

Further, just because you are called does not mean you need to make up business cards and grab a passport! Everybody ain’t sent to the nations so stop that! If your assignment is to the kids in your back yard, that is your prophetic assignment to mentor them, pray for them and see them through to college. That assignment, dear friend, is just as important in the Kingdom of God as the one holding revivals of 10,000. Obedience is obedience in all flavors.

Since the Lord has called you, get off of your excuses, get off of your seat of do nothing and DO WHAT THE LORD ‘CALLED’ YOU TO DO! You are very intelligent and you don’t need to be told the same thing every day. Be obedient, submit yourself, cut your carnal ties until you have the strength to deal with them without being influenced BY THEM and go on to Glory.

And please don’t holler CONFIRMATION because if the Lord has already told you to do this, you have just been REBUKED for being disobedient and slothful!
