Don’t Shortcut Your Wilderness

Genesis 40:14-15, “But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house: For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.”

Joseph saw an opportunity to be released from prison and like most of us, he used it. He used his gift of interpreting dreams and his favor with the butler to request a ‘get out of jail card’. He asked the butler to remember him and mention his name to Pharaoh that he may be delivered from the prison, but that was not the plan of God.

Isn’t it something how we think we can use our prestige, name, and gift as a ticket out of a situation that God has arranged? It wasn’t Joseph’s time yet to delivered from the prison. Besides that, the Lord wanted Pharaoh to summon Joseph for interpretation of his dream not that of the butler’s.

Just because we have opportunity to avoid a test or escape a challenge doesn’t mean we are supposed to. Joseph needed more ‘tenderizing’ and so do we some times. The Lord took Joseph through all of those processes to prepare him for PALACE MINISTRY. You can’t shortcut the prison and lay claim on the palace!

I don’t know who the ‘butler’ is that you thought was your sure ticket out, but the Lord is saying, DON’T TRUST IN THE BUTLER, TRUST IN ME! And I will bring you out at the APPOINTED TIME!

What Fasting Doesn’t Do

Fasting and prayer is not to change God’s mind; it’s to transform yours. Fasting kills your flesh so that it can stop suffocating your spirit man. Fasting enables you to hear God beyond the limitations of your flesh. There are situations in your life that is not being bound by the devil, it’s being bound by your flesh. Fast and get the flesh out the way so God can move by His spirit freely and unobstructed that you can obtain the breakthroughs in deliverance that you need.

Prophecy: Barrenness Precedes Birthing

Rebecca was barren for many years before she conceived and brought forth twin sons. Sometimes the struggle, the lack, the pain, and the shame is what conditions your wombs for miracles in twos. God knows whom He can trust. He knows those who will go through the ridicule and not curse Him. He knows those who will remain true to their assignment whether the help comes or not.

That barren season you are going through is actually a season of qualification in disguise. By the time that you do marry, walk in your ministry, receive your healing, or see your stuff restored, you will have matured so much in the faith that God not only graces you once, but He graces you twice. Can you handle the double for your trouble? Can you handle the fame from your shame? Can you carry those twins in your belly and endure the wrestling within? Can you be trusted with the promises of God kicking around inside of you?Barrenness always precedes birthing.”

Wisdom is Wasted on Fools

Don’t waste your breath on fools, for they will despise the wisest advice. Proverbs 23:9

Have you ever seen someone who is miserable, wandering, and never satisfied? Then, have you ever seen their reaction when God sends someone to them with a word of wisdom? It would astonish you when you see them offended and bucking like a goat! God loves us so much that when He sees us caught in a bush, He will send wisdom to rescue us, but shame on the one who pushes wisdom away. Wisdom has more patience than knowledge. Knowledge is factual, but wisdom is relational. Wisdom comes because it cares for you. Knowledge comes because you need it. Both are vital to our lives, but a smart person will stick around you longer than a wise person. Smart people love to teach, irregardless to whether you learn or not. But people of wisdom won’t waste their time and experience on a fool.

Let There Be Light

Ps. 27:1, “The Lord is my light.”

Light means revelation, illumination, and exposure of darkness. Therefore wherever the Lord is there is revelation, illumination, and exposure of dark realms. If we carry the Light of God, His Candle Stick, why do we look so defeated and worn down as believers? Everyday is not Sunny, sometimes there is rain. But wherever you are and whatever you are facing, the Light brings revelation. Introduce your Father to the situation and watch darkness flee. Let there Be LIGHT!!

Satan Still Falls Like Lightening

Luke 10:18 NASB, “And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.”

The apostles were ecstatic over casting out devils that they returned to Jesus all over themselves from what they had just experienced. But Jesus was nonchalant about it because He had seen this happen before. He said there is no need to rejoice over that because that’s the power and authority that I’m giving you. Rebuking and casting out devils was as common place to Him as brushing our teeth is to us. If you want to know what you really should be rejoicing over, that is the fact that your name is written in the Book of Life.

Jesus had already seen this before. He said I saw him when he fell from Heaven. Jesus describes satan’s fall as lightening. Do you know how fast a lightening strike is? According to a web source, a lightening strike can be as fast as 224,000 mph, or about 3,700 miles per second! In other words, before you can say the word, BOOM, the power in Jesus name has already chased the devil out of your life.

Unlike us who wrestle with devils for hours or even years, the war in Heaven didn’t last as long as the previous breath you just took!! Lucifer acted a fool and before he could say, WAIT, he was booted out!! Him and his entourage!

Satan is no match against God! That is why every battle you face is already a fixed fight. Before you can say, I WIN, you already WON! The devil can’t stay around a child of God too long because the authority in Jesus name that you carry reminds him of that great fall. This is why he comes to bully you and try to shut your mouth because within your mouth is a MIGHTY SWORD that when unleashed sends him back where he came from with a swiftness. I dare you right now to resist him and whoever will let him use them and watch that rascal flee!!

Jesus Rescues From the Waters of Life

The Lord showed me a vision of a floating device. I wondered what it meant. He revealed to me that those who are filled with the Word of God are like a floating device. No matter how deep the waters of their troubles appear, the Word will always push them to the top surface.

You may have been wondering how you made it out of that situation that you just knew was going to take you out. The Lord said because you filled up on His Word, the troubles couldn’t overtake you because the Word in you causes you to rise to the top.

Why do you think Jesus was able to walk on the water? He was the Word and the Word can’t sink, it floats, it coasts and it glides. He said My yoke is easy and My burden is light. The Word will always walk on the water, it will cruise right on to the sea shore.

So the next time people ask you how you overcame it all, tell them God gave you a Floating Device and His name is Jesus, the Living Word!

Threatened into Ministry? Probably Not!

Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:8

People can come up with some pretty weird experiences in terms of receiving their call to ministry. I have heard people say the Lord threatened them or they saw some supernatural phenomena that compelled them with a great foreboding to serve the Lord. One person said, If I don’t preach, God said He is going to
kill me! Nonsense. For some reason, we want to exaggerate our call to make them sound more spiritual than others but as the prophet Isaiah stood in the presence of Almighty God, he overhead a conversation in Heaven. He heard the Lord ask, Who will go for me? Who can I send?

The Lord God, Creator of All is asking a question, He is not compelling anyone to do anything. Jesus stated that many are called but few are chosen. Again, He extends an invitation but no one is being forced to attend. So where do we get these Heaven shaking and earth quaking revelations from when we receive the call to duty?

Suffice it to say, let us not overreact and create superfluous exaggerations about the moment we received the call. Stars won’t fall to the ground, the moon won’t change colors and the sun won’t refuse to shine when we receive the call. Paul had a unique conversion experience even though all of us have been pushed off our high horses from time to time, but when Jesus called His disciples, He called them by their name and they responded. Such will be most of our calls to duty. We will hear Heaven ask, Who will go for us? And we will respond like Isaiah did and say, Here I am Lord, send me. Let’s leave all the other theatrics on big screen where they belong. And let’s serve the Lord with gladness, humility, and a great degree of respect for the One who called us.

Praise Go Up; Blessings Show Up

Psalm 67:5,6, “Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us.”

We often hear the phrase, “When the praise go up, the blessings come down.” But according to the Word of God, when the praises go up, the blessings show up! In other words, the next time you render praises unto our God and King, you have a legal right in the spirit realm to demand of the earth to yield forth an increase according to the sovereign will and Word of God.

If we really understood the power in our praises, we would rip holes in carpeted floors as we dance unto our God. We would burst through the doors of the church with a praise. We would be intoxicated with our praises. We would be obnoxious with our praise if we really understood the power of praise.

When you praise God, earth takes notice and she positions herself for a birthing. The seeds of prayer, fasting, and meditation that you’ve planted would take deep root and spring forth faster than you could dance because earth is eager to hear our praises. When our Father in Heaven is delighted with our praises, the earth brings forth a harvest for you and is delighted to do so.

If I were you and I was in need of the earth, whether person, place or thing, yielding a harvest for me, I would praise my God like I have lost my mind. I wouldn’t let my problems, situations, or circumstances stop me. I would praise Him and I would praise Him with all of my might.
